Ole was a dear Uncle who inspired and encouraged me. This
picture is one in their back yard where he performed many weddings over the years and is
indeed a beautiful wedding parlor. - Teresa Nygard
Glenn,Virginia and Heide Knutson attended Prince of Peace or several years in the 80's. Ole married our oldest daughters Kelley & Holly. We have many fond memories of our years at Prince of Peace and have never heard anyone sing the Lords Prayer as well as Ole did. He was such an inspiration to all of us and really loved the Lord! People like Ole come around only once in a life time. This photo was taken by Virginia Knutson at Ole's 50th Ordination. - Glenn Knutson Here is a collage of Ole's 50th Ordination celebration, I'm in Arizona right now and will send some more pictures when I get back home. began my journey in 1982 when my little ones were just 2 and 3 years old. Pastor Ole
recruited me immediately to join a group for pizza and a calling party to spread the word. When I was a young Mother, both my Jim's and I moved to Lake City, it was too far to go to the church I grew up in Greenwood so we tried Prince of Peace. This was in 1961. The church was a little white wooden church sitting on top of a big green hill of grass. Same location. Big Jim and I really liked the warm and friendly feel of the church, due mainly to Ole, and his sermons were really good; you always got a message from them. Whenever I think of Pastor Ole, I picture in my mind his sincere prayers, his twinkle in his eye, his smile, his powerful voice and his loving care for each and every one of us. As our family grew, our three kids, Jan, Jeff and Jim, went to PoP for Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and Confirmation. I helped teach Sunday School and VBS. And the church grew too - from the little white church on the green grass hill to the present big beautiful church that is there now - all this growth under Pastor Ole's guidance. One other thing! A lot of police officers are cynical, mostly due to what they see at work I think. But Pastor Ole's straightforward talk, his lack of pomposity, his sincerity, his genuine caring, his love of God - all hit the mark with many others in law enforcement. I think more police officers attended Prince of Peace than any other church! - Marilyn Tagart Pastor Ole was a tremendous man who loved the Lord and his teachings, as witnessed by how he lived his life to the fullest. There are so many memories that we cherish. Our children have all been sharing the special times Ole created for them in confirmation, the plays they participated in, the trip to Disneyland. God Bless his memory. Condolences to Arlett and her family. - Aileen and Richard Miller |
Hi, my name is Sue (Miller) Williver I went to Sunday School at Prince of Peace, was confirmed there and married there as well. Ole and Arlett have been close friends of the family for years, going on our annual fishing trips every April, joining us at family functions, etc. At my parent's Golden wedding anniversary they got up and sang an "impromptu" song. I will have to ask my parents if they can remember what they sang, as I cannot recall right now. We have fun fishing stories, my husband trying to take Ole out to catch fish in our boat, because Ole couldn't seem to catch any from his boat, sitting around the campfire, many memories. - Dayne, Sue, Cory and Kelsey Williver
